The braking system is a core component of vehicle safety and plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring road traffic safety, improving vehicle performance and meeting regulatory requirements.
In daily car maintenance, the brake system is the focus of inspection and maintenance.
As we all know, the vehicle braking system includes parking brakes and wheel brakes. Therefore, these two parts are the focus of daily maintenance.

Error 1 | Cause Analysis | Troubleshooting
Hand brake drum is hot | 1 The gap is too small or improperly adjusted | 1 Readjust and increase the gap between the friction pad and the brake drum
2 Return spring failure or breakage | 2 Replace the return spring
3 Camshaft stuck or corroded | 3 Remove the cam, remove dirt and rust, and add grease |
Error 2 | Cause Analysis | Troubleshooting
Braking is not possible or is weak | 1 The friction plate is severely worn or burned. | Use sandpaper to remove the burnt layer of the brake shoe friction plate, change the assembly angle of the swing arm or adjust the swing arm, and connect the nut with the pull rod.
2 There is oil stain on the friction plate or the inner surface of the brake drum | Use gasoline to clean the oil stains on the friction plate and brake drum surface, and use sandpaper to remove the oil marks that have penetrated into the friction plate. |
Error 3 | Cause Analysis | Troubleshooting
Oil Leakage | Oil slinger and oil seal damaged | Replace damaged parts

Parking brake cannot be released | The spring air chamber fails or the control pipeline leaks or the manual valve fails | Check and exclude one by one |
Signs of brake failure include soft braking, jerky braking, braking on one side only, and unusual sounds. The general causes of brake fade are brake friction pads feeling out and excessive clearance between the brake friction pads and drums. If the brake system can not find the cause, then long should consider the use of the brake.
When the brakes are jerky, it is important to check to determine if all the brakes are jerky or if one brake is the cause. If only one brake is binding, it is likely that the brake is not working. If all the brakes are binding, the problem may lie in the operating mechanism.
In the case of only one brake functioning, not only the brake mechanism but also the tyres should be considered.
Unusual noises produced during braking are often referred to as ‘brake squeal’. In many cases, this is caused by a deterioration in the performance of the friction pads.
